Everyday meals
Here are recipes and photos of my everyday bentos. I aim towards healthy portion-controlled and varied meals. I do not stick on a particular cuisine: every cuisine has some spice to add to our everyday life!
My recipes tend, as much as possible, to be completely homemade.

My melody

Bento content: rice coloured with beetroot and blueberry, broccoli, cauliflower, Italian flat beans, carrot, spicy vegetables stir, cherries, grape, mint red bean balls, prawn balls.

Mint and red bean balls: 30g of red beans, 30g of flour, 5 sticks of mint, 5 stick of parsley, 1tsp of Chile paste, 10 cl of water, 5 sticks of chive, 2 tsp of tomato puree,1/4 dried yeast.

The night before before put the beans in a bowl cover with water.

Mince the beans, the mint leaves, the parley, and the chive.  Mix all the ingredients to obtain a smooth dough and work the dough for 10 minutes. Let rise for 2 hours. Work the dough for 5 minutes. Mould 10 balls out of the the dough and let rise for 1 hour.
Preheat your oven at 200 degrees.
Cook the balls in the oven for 15 minutes then turn the balls and cook again for 15 minutes.
Put on a rack to cool down.

This recipe is a sort of strange variation of falafels. Somehow I'm not very keen in frying things and I'm really not good at it. So when you do this recipe do not wait for falafel but for for some mint salty cookies. A good friend of mine tasted them and really enjoyed them. So it's a very good sign!

Spicy vegetable stir: 1/4 courgette, 1/4 of aubergine, 1/2 mushroom, ginger, Cayenne chili pepper.

Cut the vegetables in little squares.
Cook over medium heat with the spices with a drop of olive oil for 10 minutes.

The vegetables were flavoured with ginger and half of a stock cube.
It was really hard to mould out my melody from rice. I think the other bentoist must have a mould. I had troubles to make both rice stick together. If ever they do not use a mould I'm really impressed because it really takes a long time! And the only way I managed to make them stick is to put the head of my melody (without the ears) in some clean film and roll it. Then, I had to stick the ears, which wasn't the easiest part. Well, this is a thing you can't just do for fun quickly...I prepared it the day before and left it in the fridge. And this morning I assembled the bento.
